Sandakphu Surprize

Overview

The Sandakphu (3645m/11,950 ft is the highest peak of West Bengal, situated on the border of India and Nepal. This trek is a very beautiful and interesting zig-zag between India and Nepal. It starts from the small town Maneybhanjang (also known as the land of Land Rovers). This trek offers you a magnificent view of 4 of the top 5 highest mountains of the world i.e. Mt. Everest (8848m/29029 ft.), Kanchenjunga (8586m/28169ft), Lhotse (8516m/27940ft) and Makalu (8485m/27838ft) altogether from a single point, also the famous Sleeping Buddha view of Kanchenjunga and its neighbouring mountains, world-famous sunrises and sunsets, teahouses accommodation (only one of its kind in any Indian trek), dense jungles, rivers, meadows very rich flora n fauna, beautiful monasteries, some very beautiful accommodations and some of the picture-perfect villages. Many times you don’t even know that you are in which country. If you are lucky enough you might spot red panda here. This trek is not very tough as it is not a very high-altitude one and not very steep ascents but it does include some long-distance walk which needs a good amount of stamina. Therefore the difficulty level of this trek is between easy to moderate.
